Our Story
The trend of using BIM (Building Information Modeling) and VDC (Virtual Design Construction) grew, as well as the adoption of laser scanning as a field survey tool. The founders of Virtual Plant saw the need for the market to have a company specialized in combining concepts with technologies. Supported by research and studies carried out by Stanford University's Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE) and by the specialized bulletin on 3D technologies SPAR 3D, they created Virtual Plant Design, mixing both VDC BIM and Asset Management concepts.
In partnership with the first laser scanning company in the country, Virtual Plant Design participates in the first intelligent As-Built 3D contracts in Brazil for the Oil & Gas market.
Virtual Plant Design opens its office in the main business center of São Paulo, located in Vila Olímpia. It is consolidated in the market, carrying out several projects throughout the national territory.
The main As-Built 3D contract carried out in Brazil at the time begins, with data modeling in PDMS, As-Built of more than 200 plants, 7000 isometrics and more than 50 flowcharts. Virtual Plant Design inaugurates activities for the infrastructure market with projects for the São Paulo Subway.
Virtual Plant Design establishes a partnership with the company FARO for the acquisition of equipment and software for high precision laser scanning, carrying out several projects in the national territory.
Activities expand internationally, carrying out works in Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Colombia. Virtual Plant Design starts activities for the automotive market.
Establishes partnership with the French Dassault Systèmes®️, world leader in solutions for Digital Transformation through the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Provides 3D modeling software and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), simulation applications for the industry. Together, they offer innovative services and engineering platforms that aim to obtain operational efficiency gains through the optimization and digitalization of processes, to their clients in the Oil & Gas, Chemical Plants and CPG industries.
Virtual Plant Design carries out a rebranding process, leaving its brand more lean, with a larger objective, the technological and sustainable market. One of the actions was to revise the brand, removing the Design from the name and becoming Virtual Plant.
Social Responsibility
Virtual Plant believes that companies and social entities play an important part in the engine of collective well-being. Based on this conviction, Virtual Plant assists organizations and people engaged in the promotion of social well-being, including the ETHOS Institute and the Abrinq Foundation, which is extremely important, as it acts at the root of the solution of social problems: underprivileged children.
